Name this old bollywood movie? late 70s early 80s maybe?
ok so the story is about a guy and girl in love (what else would it be about lol) and they both grow up in a poor indian village. The only thing is that the girl wants to live a rich life, she sings a fantasy song about being rich with with her boyfriend where she is wearing a red lengha with beautiful jewelry and dancing around a really nice car. at some point in the movie she ends up marrying some other guy for his money and breaks her boyfriend’s heart. So she goes off with hr husband and her boyfriend stays in the village. Then the poor guy meets this other girl who is even poorer then he is and she mysteriously disappears in the afternoon. this girl has a family that consists of a crippled old father who rides around on a wooden wagon thing bc he has no legs and an illegitimate baby. It turns out she leaves every afternoon to be raped by these store owners so they dont hurt her family. the boy falls in love with her. eventually in the movie there is some sort of fight that goes on and her father and her son are killed because they get pushed down a sewage drain. (its pretty sad) then the first girl ( who is married to the rich guy) evetually realizes shes not happy and comes back for him but then all i remember is her being shot and dying and saying to the poor girl that shes the one that deserves him and she gives her this ring with one of the hindu gods on it (a ring that the boy gave her in the begining) or actually it could be a necklace or a bracelet it really hard to recall. but anyway i DO remember that this was a great movie and it was in color even though its old. if anyone knows this it would be awesome thanks!
